This is a cracking piece, so well written as well as the great content itself, from the European Football Weekends blog described by the Guardian as “a perennial source of pleasure”.

I myself missed out on many of the Gillingham and early Withdean years because I was trying - and eventually failing - to live out my own football dream which involved a lot of Saturday games and a lot of anger at football before my eventual 11-a-side retirement for my own safety & sanity. So some of the Brighton info is new to me.
